Manarola, Cinque Terre jewel.
The flat
The flat is constituted of one entrance with living and large kitchen,
bathroom with ante-bathroom, a room with a double bed and a single bed,
and another bedroom with two single beds (or a double bed, as you prefer).
The flat also has an independent gas heating to enjoy your holiday in
every season. In addition to that, you'll find very useful the terrace
where you'll be able to see the whole village.
And don't forget: you can bring with you animals of any size in this
flat (but please let him stay only in the terrace, in order to respect
other customers!)!

How to reach it
Manarola is the second of Cinque Terre villages you'll find starting from
La Spezia: by train, you won't need more than a quarter of an hour to
get the heart of the village.
A little bit of history
Rebuilding Manarola history is not as easy as it seems, because of the
lots of holes in the bibliography regardind it. What is certain, is that
the gothic style church dominating the village was built in 1338. Some
historycal hints may be known by old people of the place who, as it were
a nice novel from past times, talk about the peasants descending from
the mountain (where now lies Volastra, once upon a time was called "Vicus
Oleaster") down to the sea, where they found a piece of land belonging
to an old Roman family, which hosted a "Manium Arula" (from
which comes the name "Manarola"), a small temple dedicated to
the Manes, deads' souls.
To see
Attractive ande development
centre of all the village is the small port, which lies like a jewel between
two rocks, in a superbe closed gorge. Then, the well famous "Via
dell'Amore" links Manarola with Riomaggiore in a fantastic road across
the sea. But there's also another path, in the opposite direction, leading
to Corniglia. Actualli, the road is divided in two separate tracks, very
different in difficulty level: athletic people won't find that harsh the
one leading to the cemetery; for those who are not climbers, we suggest
the "passeggiata Birolli", turning around Punta Bonfiglio (who
recently was provided with a bowl court).
Events
April: National Extemporary Painting Contest "Via dell'Amore"
August, 10th: in the falling stars night there's the patronal fair,
with the procession in the village roads and the sea benediction.
Very interesting the events periodically promoted by the Cantina Social,
and the Slow Food Association: fish, wine and oil are the typical elements
of Cinque Terre, but the world-famous Sciacchetrà wine is the
protagonist of many evenings.
